6 Simple Recipes to Elevate Your Routine

No one is saying that packaged snacks aren’t convenient for time-strapped moms. But if you are tired of constantly reaching for packaged snacks that may not be the healthiest option, I find that it’s totally worth it to spend a bit of time prepping some homemade goodness when you have a free hour.

With just a little prep time, you can have a variety of nutritious and delicious snacks ready to grab whenever hunger strikes.

Here are six of my favourite recipes to add to your snack rotation! I put all of them into a downloadable free pdf guide which you can download right here:

Homemade muffins are simple to add into your weekly routines! And by taking control of the ingredients, they will be healthier and more satisfying.

1. Banana Muffins

These moist and flavourful muffins are perfect as a satisfying snack any time of day. I like to make them without any added sugar, just using the banana for sweetness. Keep them simple or add in some chocolate chips or walnuts to make them a bit more exciting!

2. Crispy Air Fryer Chickpeas

Say goodbye to store-bought chips and hello to these crunchy, flavorful chickpeas! Seasoned to your liking and cooked to crispy perfection in the air fryer, they're an addictive snack that's also packed with protein and fibre.

3. PB & J Energy Bites

These bite-sized treats are super quick to make and don’t have a lot of fancy ingredients. I find them the perfect combo of sweet and salty flavours. Time saving tip: press them into a parchment-lined baking pan to set and then cut them into squares instead of rolling into balls.

4. Yogurt Bark

For a refreshing after dinner treat, look no further than yogurt bark. Simply spread your favorite yogurt onto a baking sheet, add your favorite toppings like fruit and nuts, then freeze until firm. These taste best with a more full-fat yogurt.

5. Freezer Protein Waffles

Who says waffles are just for breakfast? These protein-packed waffles are perfect for snacking any time of day. Make a big batch and freeze them for easy reheating whenever you need a quick and satisfying snack. My kids love them as waffle sandwiches- with peanut butter and jelly in the middle.

6. Green Goddess Dip

I know we’re all tired of hummus… so this vibrant green goddess dip is a great alternative. Made with fresh herbs and Greek yogurt, it's a healthy and flavorful option for dipping veggies or spreading on crackers. It also works as a thick salad dressing.
